There’s something about spring that always feels so energetic. The days slowly get warmer, longer, and more colorful. It’s my favorite time of year, and a season that naturally inspires me to create.
One of my favorite ways to lean into that feeling is by making floral arrangements. As a brand photographer, creativity is a big part of my daily work, but I’ve learned how important it is to find creative outlets that aren’t tied to deadlines or productivity. Personally, I love to find activities that are simply meditative, and arranging flowers is one of them. It slows me down, gets me off my screen, and reminds me that not everything beautiful has to be sold.
This arrangement with roses and cherry blossom stems (truly a fragrant dream) started as one of those quiet creative moments. But I ended up loving it so much, I even turned into the centerpiece for a spring dinner. Whether you’re hosting a gathering, dreaming up content for your brand, or simply want an excuse to create, this floral piece is the perfect seasonal touch.
The Floral Ingredients
I started with blush roses, which have always been one of my go-to blooms. They feel romantic, timeless and will soften any space. I filled the extra space with hydrangeas, which are also some of my favorite flowers, and super easy to find at a grocery store. To give the arrangement a sense of movement, I added cherry blossom branches.
How I Styled It:
The vessel: A wide ceramic pot with a worn, natural finish.
The mechanics: A floral frog, foam, or chicken wire at the base to help guide placement.
The flowers: Cream and blush roses, hydrangeas, and cherry blossoms
This arrangement could easily live on a dining table, entryway console, or even styled into a brand photo shoot. In fact, florals like these are one of my favorite styling tools when creating content for small business owners, creatives, and lifestyle brands.
